BERMUDA'S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

WELCOME TO DOLPHIN QUEST BERMUDA'S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Internship Program at Dolphin Quest Bermuda is an immersive journey into the world of marine conservation and animal care where college students can experience a dynamic marine education environment alongside seasoned experts. As an intern, you will engage in diverse activities, from animal care and enrichment to educational outreach, gaining insights into marine mammal behavior, conservation practices, and the vital role of education in fostering a deeper connection with our oceanic world.

Program Content:

  • Time requirement is 40 hours/week for three months.
  • College level non-paid internship to gain experience in a marine mammal care environment.
  • Earn course credits through educational practicum.
  • Hands on experience with animal husbandry, marine conservation, education, and scientific studies.
  • Develop learned skills in daily operations, public engagement, and animal interaction.

Program Logistics:

  • This program is for college students or recent graduates ages 18 years and older.
  • Program size will vary depending upon the number of applicants.
  • Each candidate must be able to pass our company swim test.
  • Each candidate must also meet a variety of criteria including being enrolled in college at the sophomore level or higher, being able to commit to the entire 3-month internship and able to fluently communicate in English.

Application Process:

  • This is an application-based program, so all students will need to apply and be accepted into the internship program.
  • There are four 3-month sessions available each year.
  • Session dates vary and applications are due two months prior to each session.

Additional Information:

  • Interns may be able to gain academic credit with their university or college. Students will need to speak to their university counselor or advisor for information on making those arrangements. Dolphin Quest will assist with any necessary paperwork to support eligible students in gaining academic credit for their practicum period completed.

Marine Mammal Training Internship Program

The Dolphin Quest Bermuda Marine Mammal Internship Program provides interns with the opportunity to perform a wide variety of duties which relate to marine mammal training. The intern will join our marine mammal specialist team in supporting our company’s mission and to educate our guests and contribute to the health and well-being of our animals.

Marine Conservation Education Internship Program

The Dolphin Quest Bermuda Marine Conservation Education Internship Program provides interns with the opportunity to perform a wide variety of duties, which relate to marine and environmental education at an informal marine mammal facility. The intern will join our education and marine mammal specialist teams in supporting the Dolphin Quest mission in delivering innovative educational experiences.

All internship sessions above are open to receive applications. We will start considering applications prior to the final deadline. Please note that early applicants may fill available intern spots.

Completed application packets must arrive no later than 9pm AST on the final deadline date. Applications that are incomplete or arrive after the final deadline may risk not being considered.
