Dolphin Quest is the first organization in Bermuda to be Humane Certified by American Humane assuring that the facility meets the highest standards of animal care. American Humane is the world’s largest certifier of the welfare and humane treatment of animals. The organization also provides animal response and rescue during natural disasters including Hurricane Michael which recently affected thousands of animals on America’s southeast coast.
During her travels, it is common for Dr. Ganzert to identify and recognize groups that may benefit from the support from their organization. Bermuda was no exception. Dolphin Quest hosted a meeting with Dr. Ganzert and representatives from the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo, Bermuda Government and the S.P.C.A. to explore opportunities to advance animal welfare in Bermuda and beyond. Dr. Ganzert presented a donation check to the S.P.C.A. to assist their efforts locally in Bermuda. The funds have been earmarked for the S.P.C.A.’s new kitten facility. “The S.P.C.A. are truly grateful to Dolphin Quest for the invite to meet Dr. Robin Ganzert and are so incredibly touched by the American Humane donation which will help us with our brand-new kitten facility”, says Libby Cook-Toppan, Marketing, Education & Communications Manager, Bermuda S.P.C.A.
“Wewere happy to connect our colleagues in the Bermuda animal community with Dr. Ganzert of American Humane”, says Christine Mihelcic of Dolphin Quest Bermuda. “It was an honor to welcome Dr. Ganzert to our Bermuda site after recently achieving our American Humane certification at all three of our Dolphin Quest locations. The program enforces rigorous, science-based and comprehensive criteria for animal welfare developed by an independent scientific Advisory Committee comprised of world-renowned leaders in the fields of animal science, animal behavior and animal ethics.”
