BERMUDA NOT AFFECTED BY HURRICANE IRMA & WELCOMING TOURISTS AS USUAL

Several recent media reports about Hurricane Irma confused Barbuda with Bermuda and created some concern that Bermuda may have been affected, which is incorrect. Fortunately, Bermuda was over 1000 miles out of the Hurricane Irma’s path. The island is safe and welcoming visitors as usual. Our thoughts and prayers are with those in the Caribbean and Florida who have been affected by the storm.

Bermuda hearts certainly beat with a Caribbean rhythm – we have family, friends and colleagues greatly impacted by Irma. Bermuda is pitching in to help islands bounce back – they have dispatched soldiers from the Royal Bermuda Regiment to British Virgin Islands (BVI) to aid in recovery, donated funds and goods to those in need, and offered refuge out here for some of those whose homes are lost.

Organizations in the United States like American Humane are also rallying to assist and are currently assisting animals affected by Hurricane Harvey and Irma. If you are looking for a way to help animals in need, please consider making a donation to AmericanHumane.org.

Dolphin Quest Bermuda is located inside the National Museum of Bermuda in Dockyard.
