At the National Museum of Bermuda

Dolphin Quest invites local and overseas school groups to visit us at the majestic National Museum of Bermuda in the Royal Naval Dockyard, to participate in exciting educational experiences and learn about dolphins and other amazing sea creatures through fun and engaging activities.

We also provide interactive educational opportunities for higher education students and those who are interested in pursuing a career related to marine animals and our ocean. For a list of educational resources pertaining to marine animals and the ocean please click here.

Virtual Field Trip

Join a Dolphin Quest Marine Mammal Specialist for a 30-minute customized age appropriate conservation and dolphin themed lesson. Program details as follows: Click here to complete a Virtual Field Trip Request Form.

Education level: Preschool through college
Length of lesson: 30 minutes
Program cost:    $75/ group * (FREE for qualifying education groups)

May & June 2020
Daily 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. AT/ 9:30 a.m – 10:30 a.m. ET

  • 30-minute age-appropriate interactive educational lessons
  • Connect through Zoom or other pre-approved e-learning platform
  • Post-lesson Q & A opportunity with a Marine Mammal specialist
  • Open to local and overseas school groups
  • Available May & June 2020

 

  • Minimum group size is 10 students
  • Maximum group size is 60 students
  • Groups larger than 60 students will require a separate reservation
  • Alternate times subject to availability
  • Lessons align with National Education Standards, the Cambridge Curriculum, STEM, and Ocean Literacy Principles

 

*As part of our ongoing Community support, Dolphin Quest is pleased to offer  FREE Virtual Field Trips for the balance of the 2019/20 Academic year for all Bermuda schools and qualifying educational organizations. For more information please submit a Request Form.

All Virtual Field Trip interaction content and length may vary subject to students’ age, number of participants and weather.

Program cost (lesson only): $8 per child
Program lesson plus dolphin interaction: $18 per child

September – June
Monday – Friday at 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

  • 45-minute age-appropriate interactive educational lessons
  • Optional post-lesson dolphin interaction opportunity
  • Open to local and visiting overseas school groups
  • Available September through June
  • Minimum group size is 10 students
  • Groups larger than 25 students may require additional time allocations
  • Alternate dates and times subject to availability
  • Two complimentary admissions for chaperones are included for all education programs

6-Lesson Mini Series

Ministry of Education & Cambridge Curriculum mapped lessons for years P2, P4, P6, and M2. This includes a dolphin interaction during the last lesson. Program details as follows: Click here to complete an Education Request Form

Number of lessons: Six (booked in advance)
Length of lesson: 45 minutes
Program cost: $40 per child for six lessons (includes dolphin interaction*)

September – March
Monday – Friday at 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Curriculum Summary

  • Join us for a series of six lessons in an alternate learning environment that connects students to nature and science through interactive teaching methods
  • These lessons are scheduled within the academic school year and are designed to complement the science curriculum at key year levels
  • The final week’s lesson includes a post program dry dock dolphin interaction
  • Lessons have been mapped in accordance with the Bermuda Ministry of Education Science Checklist and the Cambridge Curriculum Scheme of Work Science and Mathematics Stages
  • Corresponding Objectives, Terms, Units and Framework Codes are noted on each Mini Series Outline which can be provided upon request
  • Two complimentary admissions for chaperones are included for all education programs

  • Watch our dolphins from the nearby viewing area located inside the National Museum of Bermuda
  • Entrance to the Museum is free, but you must book in advance
