2025 ART CONTEST
Dolphin Quest conducts an exciting art contest to help student stewards aged 6-18 show off their artistic talents while learning about important conservation topics that will ultimately protect marine animals and our ocean.
Each artwork must express the relationship and impact of human beings on our ocean and must focus on at least one of the selected themes and showcase both the problem and solutions. Click on the buttons below for additional information about each conservation topic.
Artwork must be created using paints, crayons, colored pencils, markers, or graphite, and must be mailed or hand-delivered to Dolphin Quest Hawaii’s Education Department.

CONTEST RULES AND GUIDELINES

- Each artwork must express the relationship and impact of human beings on our ocean and must focus on at least one of the selected themes.
- The artwork must showcase both the problem and solutions.
- The contest is offered to Big Island of Hawaii resident students in the following age categories: 6-9, 10-12, 13-15, and 16-18.
- Only one entry per student will be accepted.
- Artwork must be 2-dimensional, and no smaller than 11”x17” (27.9cm x 43cm).
- Artwork must be created using paints, crayons, colored pencils, markers, or graphite.
- No pastels, photography, 3D objects, collages, or computer-generated imagery will be accepted.
- The purpose of this contest is marine conservation awareness, so please select ONE THEME as the focus of your artwork.
- Judging will be based on artwork composition, creativity, clarity of message, and criteria compliance.
- Artwork must be mailed or hand-delivered to Dolphin Quest Hawaii’s Education Department:

- The following information must be submitted with each artwork:
- Student name and age
- Student school
- Name of educator
- Name of parent/guardian
- Contact email and phone for adult contact

- January 24th = Begin to accept artwork
- March 3rd = Artwork submission deadline (UN World Wildlife Day)
- March 21st = Winners announced

- Top winner in each age category:
- Encounter Deluxe in-water dolphin interaction for two.
- Top 3 submissions in each age category will also be submitted to the Delphinus International “Festival of the Oceans” art contest for a chance to win:
- Trip to Cancun, Mexico for student and guardian
